INDOOR AIR QUALITY & VIRAL PARTICLES

COVID-19 Can Spread Through the Air Inside Your Home

COVID-19 is primarily spread through respiratory droplets and airborne particles. In enclosed spaces, those particles can remain in the air and move through shared rooms, especially when ventilation and filtration are poor.

Airborne Particles

Respiratory particles can linger in indoor air after coughing, sneezing, talking, or breathing

Shared Indoor Spaces

Poor ventilation can allow particles to build up in rooms where people gather

HVAC Circulation

Air moving through the home can carry dust, allergens, and airborne contaminants

Respiratory Health Concern

COVID-19 can cause serious illness, especially for higher-risk individuals

Improve Indoor Air Quality
And Reduce Airborne Contaminants

COVID-19 is most commonly associated with exposure to respiratory particles released when an infected person breathes, talks, coughs, or sneezes. Indoors, those particles can become more concentrated when fresh air and filtration are limited.

While no air system can guarantee protection from illness, improving indoor air quality can help reduce airborne contaminants and create a healthier home environment.

Green Home Air helps homeowners address indoor air quality concerns connected to dust, allergens, microbial buildup, and airborne particles that may circulate through the home.

A cleaner HVAC system, better filtration, and improved air movement can support a healthier indoor environment for your family.

Important Safety Note:

  • Improve ventilation when possible
  • Use quality HVAC filtration
  • Replace dirty filters regularly
  • Keep indoor air moving and filtered
  • Clean high-touch areas as needed

I am very appreciative of Dave's prompt service, not only to analyze and clean ducts and vents with at least 20 years of dust buildup, but also to provide immediate mold remediation upon the discovery of water damage underneath our washer and dryer!

Dave was very friendly and helpful. He was very honest and upfront. They are competitively priced and quick. He was able to test my house within a couple of days. The lab results take 5 days, but that's out of their hands. They can order a rush to have the lab grow the results a little faster if needed. He did a great job cleaning my ventilation system which was important since I have bird fancier's lung.

I'm not sure why all the reviews are bad because we had an awesome experience they removed, treated and sealed so much mold and cleaned our very dirty air ducts they were also extremely polite. Good people. The smell from the disinfectant does last longer then they say though, would keep that in mind. We stayed outside for awhile but the benefit of it outweighed the inconvenience

Local Expertise

COVID Decontamination in South Jordan

The South Jordan Picture

South Jordan's tightly sealed newer homes and its offices, schools, and shared community facilities around Daybreak all hold indoor air rather than exchanging it. That is part of why professional decontamination is worth doing properly when a case comes through a shared space.

We handle COVID decontamination in South Jordan for commercial spaces and homes alike, and the local building stock matters in both. The offices, medical suites, schools, and childcare centers around Daybreak are recent construction with tight envelopes and mechanical ventilation, so air is recirculated rather than freely exchanged with outdoors. When there is a case in that kind of space, the responsible response is proper treatment across the high-touch points people actually contact, using EPA-registered disinfectants and scheduling around your hours. We will tell you honestly what is worth treating and what is not.

Large buildings with shared spaces

Much of South Jordan's rental housing is in big complexes. The city's 2025 housing study counts more than 2,500 units in apartment communities of 100 units or more, with the largest cluster along the eastern edge near the Jordan River. Lobbies, mailrooms, fitness rooms, elevators and leasing offices see hundreds of people a day.

For property managers, disinfection usually means a targeted service after a reported illness or during a heavy respiratory season, not daily spraying. We treat high-touch hard surfaces such as door hardware, elevator buttons, railings, counters and shared equipment, and we schedule around residents.

Health sciences, events and gyms

South Jordan has a mix of facilities where sanitation is a regular concern. Roseman University of Health Sciences has a campus here with pharmacy, dentistry and nursing programs. The University of Utah runs a health center in Downtown Daybreak, and the area's ballpark and entertainment district opened in 2025. Gyms, community centers and event spaces add more shared equipment and seating.

For these spaces, the product matters as much as the application. We use EPA-registered disinfectants and follow the label, including contact time, which EPA defines as how long a surface must stay visibly wet to work. Electrostatic sprayers help coat irregular surfaces evenly, but they do not shorten that time.

Households with someone at higher risk

The city's housing study notes a higher share of older adults on the east side, particularly the northeast. In a household with an older adult, someone recovering from treatment, or a newborn, a family may want a home treated after a stay with a sick relative or before someone comes home from the hospital.

In homes, we keep it simple: hard surfaces in the kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom and common areas, with products chosen for the materials in the house. Disinfection reduces germs on surfaces at the time we treat them. It does not prevent future exposure, and handwashing, ventilation and staying home when sick still matter most. Before we start, we ask about anyone in the home with asthma or chemical sensitivities so we can choose products and ventilation times that fit the household.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Does a tightly sealed South Jordan building change how you treat it?

It affects our thinking about ventilation and scheduling more than the surface work itself. Newer Daybreak-era buildings recirculate air rather than exchanging it freely with outdoors, so we account for how the space ventilates when planning the treatment and the reoccupancy timing. The surface protocol focuses on high-touch points regardless, since that is what people actually contact.

Is professional decontamination worth it for a home, or is regular cleaning enough?

For most households ordinary cleaning is reasonable, and we will say so. Where professional treatment makes sense is when someone in the home is genuinely vulnerable, such as an older relative or a person with a health condition, and the family is trying to isolate a case in a shared space. We would rather give you a straight answer about your situation than propose work you do not need.

What drives the cost of COVID disinfection for a South Jordan business?

Square footage, the number and type of surfaces, and when we can work. An open office in Daybreak with mostly hard surfaces is straightforward. A gym, clinic waiting room or apartment amenity space with equipment, upholstered seating and electronics takes more care. After-hours or weekend scheduling can also affect price. We walk the space and give you a written quote.

When do South Jordan schools and businesses usually schedule disinfection?

Common times are during school breaks, after a reported illness, and during the winter respiratory season, when people spend more time indoors. For Jordan School District families and charter or private schools, winter and spring breaks leave classrooms empty long enough for full contact times. Businesses often book Friday evenings or weekends so surfaces dry before people return.

What paperwork do you provide after disinfecting a South Jordan property?

We can list the areas treated, the date, and the EPA-registered products used, with their registration numbers and safety data sheets. Property managers and businesses often keep this with facility records. Whether you need it for a lease, insurer or regulator depends on your situation, so check with them. We do not provide legal or compliance advice.

Do you disinfect common areas in South Jordan apartment complexes?

Yes. Many of South Jordan's apartments are in large complexes near the Jordan River, with shared lobbies, mailrooms, fitness rooms and elevators. We focus on high-touch hard surfaces and work on a schedule that limits disruption for residents. A single treatment does not protect a building over time, so we can talk with you about when a service makes sense.

My elderly parent lives with us in South Jordan. Is home disinfection worth it?

It can make sense at specific times, such as after someone in the house has been sick or before a family member comes home from the hospital. It reduces germs on surfaces when it is done, but it does not prevent new exposure. For ongoing protection, handwashing, ventilation and staying home when sick matter more. We will tell you honestly if routine cleaning is enough.

Is electrostatic spraying safe for electronics and fabrics in a Daybreak office?

It depends on the product and the surface. Electrostatic spraying puts a fine, even coat on surfaces, but the disinfectant label decides where it can be used. We check labels for electronics, upholstery and other materials, cover or skip items as needed, and wipe sensitive equipment by hand. Surfaces must stay wet for the label's full contact time.
