INDOOR AIR QUALITY & VIRAL PARTICLES

COVID-19 Can Spread Through the Air Inside Your Home

COVID-19 is primarily spread through respiratory droplets and airborne particles. In enclosed spaces, those particles can remain in the air and move through shared rooms, especially when ventilation and filtration are poor.

Airborne Particles

Respiratory particles can linger in indoor air after coughing, sneezing, talking, or breathing

Shared Indoor Spaces

Poor ventilation can allow particles to build up in rooms where people gather

HVAC Circulation

Air moving through the home can carry dust, allergens, and airborne contaminants

Respiratory Health Concern

COVID-19 can cause serious illness, especially for higher-risk individuals

Improve Indoor Air Quality
And Reduce Airborne Contaminants

COVID-19 is most commonly associated with exposure to respiratory particles released when an infected person breathes, talks, coughs, or sneezes. Indoors, those particles can become more concentrated when fresh air and filtration are limited.

While no air system can guarantee protection from illness, improving indoor air quality can help reduce airborne contaminants and create a healthier home environment.

Green Home Air helps homeowners address indoor air quality concerns connected to dust, allergens, microbial buildup, and airborne particles that may circulate through the home.

A cleaner HVAC system, better filtration, and improved air movement can support a healthier indoor environment for your family.

Important Safety Note:

  • Improve ventilation when possible
  • Use quality HVAC filtration
  • Replace dirty filters regularly
  • Keep indoor air moving and filtered
  • Clean high-touch areas as needed

Why Act Now

Dave has been super awesome with getting our home clear of mold, we had to call him multiple times since there was more and more mold that we found, he was understanding and made it quick and easy for us to have him come and get rid of the mold. I can’t say thanks enough.

I am very appreciative of Dave's prompt service, not only to analyze and clean ducts and vents with at least 20 years of dust buildup, but also to provide immediate mold remediation upon the discovery of water damage underneath our washer and dryer!

Dave was very friendly and helpful. He was very honest and upfront. They are competitively priced and quick. He was able to test my house within a couple of days. The lab results take 5 days, but that's out of their hands. They can order a rush to have the lab grow the results a little faster if needed. He did a great job cleaning my ventilation system which was important since I have bird fancier's lung.

I'm not sure why all the reviews are bad because we had an awesome experience they removed, treated and sealed so much mold and cleaned our very dirty air ducts they were also extremely polite. Good people. The smell from the disinfectant does last longer then they say though, would keep that in mind. We stayed outside for awhile but the benefit of it outweighed the inconvenience

Local Expertise

COVID Decontamination in West Jordan

The West Jordan Picture

West Jordan's suburban mix of neighborhood schools, family homes, and retail centers like Jordan Landing means COVID-19 decontamination here ranges from a single classroom to a full household. Green Home Air Quality serves local businesses, schools, and families with EPA-registered disinfectants and electrostatic application, delivering thorough, non-disruptive treatment that fits around class schedules, store hours, and busy family routines.

In West Jordan most of our decontamination work happens in spaces full of everyday routine: elementary classrooms, daycares, dental offices, and family homes. Schools and childcare centers need treatment that respects young occupants, so we handle classrooms, cubbies, shared-toy storage, and restroom fixtures after hours and confirm surfaces are dry before children return. In homes, a positive case usually means bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and the high-touch trail between them. Retail around Jordan Landing and Redwood Road is scheduled before opening or after closing.

Apartment buildings and shared amenities

West Jordan has more than 4,900 housing units in buildings with 10 or more apartments, according to Census survey data. In those complexes, many high-touch surfaces are shared: mailbox banks, elevator buttons, fitness rooms, laundry rooms and clubhouse kitchens. We work with property managers and HOAs to disinfect those areas on a set schedule, or after a resident reports being sick.

We also handle unit turnovers. An empty unit is the easiest time to reach every surface, from cabinet pulls to HVAC registers, before the next tenant moves in. We can coordinate with your maintenance crew so disinfection happens after painting and carpet cleaning, not before, and the unit is ready on move-in day.

When someone at home is at higher risk

Some West Jordan households include an older parent, someone in cancer treatment, or a person recovering from surgery. After a respiratory illness has passed through the house, some families want high-touch surfaces disinfected before that person comes home or before visitors arrive. It's a reasonable, practical step.

We focus on door handles, light switches, remotes, counters, bathroom fixtures and bedside surfaces. We work around medical equipment without moving it, and we can use fragrance-free products if you ask. If a care team has given you specific instructions about cleaning products, share them with us and we'll follow them.

How we choose and apply disinfectants

We use EPA-registered disinfectants and follow the label. The EPA defines contact time as how long a treated surface must stay visibly wet for the product to work. In West Jordan's dry, semi-arid air, a quick wipe can dry in seconds and fall short of that. Electrostatic sprayers help, because the charged droplets wrap around surfaces and coat them evenly, and we reapply where the label calls for it.

We can give you the product names and EPA registration numbers for your records. We won't claim to make a building germ-free. Disinfection reduces germs on surfaces at the time it's done, and it works best alongside handwashing and staying home when sick. If a space only needs routine cleaning, we'll tell you that rather than sell you a service you don't need.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can a classroom be ready for students again?

Typically within a couple of hours. We schedule school and daycare disinfection after dismissal or overnight, treat high-touch surfaces and shared areas, and let disinfectant meet its full contact time. Once surfaces are dry we confirm the room is safe for children to return, often before the next school day begins.

What does home disinfection cover after a family case?

We focus on the surfaces people actually touch — light switches, door handles, remotes, faucet and toilet handles, countertops, and stair rails — across bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas. Using EPA-registered products, we treat room by room so your family has safe, dry spaces to use while we work. Most homes are ready to reoccupy within one to two hours.

What affects the cost of disinfection for a West Jordan apartment complex or office?

Square footage, the number of shared rooms, how much furniture and equipment is in place, and whether the work has to happen after hours. A clubhouse and fitness room take far less time than every hallway, stairwell and laundry room in a multi-building West Jordan complex. Recurring service on a set schedule is scoped differently from a one-time visit. We'll walk the space and give you a written scope first.

When is a good time to schedule disinfection for a West Jordan property?

Many respiratory viruses spread more in fall and winter, when people spend more time indoors, so some West Jordan property managers schedule common-area service ahead of those months. Other natural times are after an illness in the household, before a vulnerable family member returns home, or between tenants. For businesses, we can work evenings or weekends so the space is ready when staff return.

What paperwork do you provide for a West Jordan business, HOA or property manager?

A dated service record listing the areas treated, the disinfectants used with their EPA registration numbers, and the label contact times we followed. Some HOAs, insurers and corporate offices want that on file. Routine disinfection generally isn't covered by insurance, though policies differ, so check yours. We don't make legal or compliance determinations, so confirm with your insurer or HR team what they need.

Is electrostatic spraying safe for the electronics in our West Jordan office?

We don't spray directly onto keyboards, computers or other sensitive electronics. For those, we apply disinfectant to a cloth and wipe by hand, following the device maker's guidance where it exists. Electrostatic spraying is for desks, chairs, counters, door hardware and other hard surfaces. We'll walk through your West Jordan office with you first and flag anything you want handled differently.

My parent is coming home to West Jordan after a hospital stay. Can you disinfect before then?

Yes. We can disinfect high-touch surfaces in the rooms they'll use, plus the kitchen and bathrooms, a day or so before they arrive. We leave medical equipment in place and work around it. Ask their care team whether they have instructions about cleaning products or fragrances. Disinfection lowers germs on surfaces; it isn't a substitute for the care plan their doctors give you.

Can you disinfect a vacant West Jordan apartment between tenants?

Yes. A turnover is a good time, because the unit is empty and every surface is within reach. We treat kitchens, bathrooms, doors and hardware, light switches, window sills and HVAC registers, then let the label contact time run before we leave. For larger West Jordan complexes, we can set up a standing turnover schedule with your maintenance team so units are ready on time.
